Description: Consent is the single most important pillar of BDSM, but is it really as simple
as “Yes” or “No”? This workshop challenges the basic understanding of consent, treating it
not as a static checkbox, but as a living, breathing negotiation that evolves throughout every
scene. We move beyond the basics to explore the subtle, often overlooked layers of agreement
and how to navigate them effectively.
What we will explore:
- The Consent Spectrum: Unpacking explicit, informed, and enthusiastic consent—
and identifying the dangerous pitfalls of “dishonest consent.” - Negotiation ≠ Consent: Understanding the critical distinction between the
conversation you have before the scene and the ongoing agreement during the scene. - Reading the Room: Why willingness is not always the same as consent, and learning
to “read” the situation rather than just waiting for a verbal command. - Shared Responsibility: Navigating the risks of perception and unknown results,
ensuring that consent is a mutual dance where “it takes two to tango.”
