Here we will take our point of departure in how we can use floggers in a scene, both as a primary implement and what we can advantageously combine them with—and why. We will look at the value of combining implements, and we will also touch on how impact play can be combined with rope and bondage. We will examine what happens in the body when it is subjected to different types of helplessness and pain stimuli.
As a participant, you will need 2–4 implements, preferably of different types suitable for lighter impact play. So don’t bring your heaviest, longest hippopotamus whips, but choose smaller, relatively light floggers and similar implements that you can control in small areas. It will also be beneficial to bring three 8-meter ropes. The material of the ropes does not matter. We will not be doing suspension, but we will be playing with powerlessness and fixation alongside the pain from impact implements. To get something meaningful out of the workshop, participants must be divided into a “giver” and a “receiver”; gender is irrelevant to anyone other than yourselves. We will focus on alternating between theory/explanation and practical exercises. I will inspire you, but it is up to you how you translate that inspiration into the execution of the exercises.
